DMFT Deoghar

District Mineral Foundation (DMF) is a trust set up as a non-profit body, in those districts affected by the mining works, to work for the interest and benefit of persons and areas affected by mining related operations. It is funded through the contributions from the holder of major or minor mineral concession in the district as may be prescribed by the Central or State Government.

Legal Provision:

• Section 9B of Mine and Minerals Development Regulation (MMDR) Amendment Act 2015 stipulates that ‘n any district affected by mining related operations, the State Government shall, by notification, establish a trust, as a non-profit body, to be called the District Mineral Foundation.
• Central Government issued directions on 16.09.2015 to the all State Governments to incorporate PMKKKY into the rules framed by them for the District Mineral Foundation under section 20A of MMDR Amendment Act 2015.
