How to Reach

A major pilgrimage centre, Deoghar is the main city of the Deoghar District in the Santhal Parganas division of the Indian state of Jharkhand. The city is home to Baidyanath Temple, one of the twelve Shiva Jyotirlingas. Some of the most visited tourist attractions of the city are Dolmanch, Kundeshwari, Naulakha Mandir, Basukinath Temple, Baiju Temple and Maa Shitala Temple. Deoghar is well-connected to other major cities of the country by air, road and rail.

How to reach Deoghar by Air

Deoghar Airport also known as Baba Baidyanath Airport, is a domestic airport serving Deoghar in the state of Jharkhand. It is situated approximately 12 kilometres (7.4 mi) from the main city. The airport has been primarily developed to serve the region of North-Eastern part of Jharkhand and some districts of South-Eastern Bihar. It also caters millions of pilgrims of Baidyanath Temple across the country.In April 2021, Indigo was selected to operate flights from Deoghar to Kolkata, Ranchi and Patna, under the Government’s Regional Connectivity Scheme called UDAN. Flights for Delhi was started on 30 July 2022.

How to reach Deoghar by Rail

Jasidih junction is the main station at an approximate 7 km distance and it will take 10 to 15 minutes in covering it from main city of Deoghar serving the satellite town of Deoghar city in Deoghar District. It is well connected with other cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ranchi, Patna, Varanasi and Bhubaneswar etc. of the country as well. Another station Baidyanath Dham Junction which is located in the main city is second station in Deoghar. Deoghar station is the third station located 5 km from the main city. The station connects cities Bhagalpur and Dumka with Deoghar.

Deoghar is 16 Kms from Sarawan, 36 Kms from Sarath, 41 Kms from Jarmundi, 52 Kms from Chandmari, 52 Kms from Bengabad, 68 Kms from Deori, 70 Kms form Giridih, 132 Kms from Dhanbad, 148 Kms from Koderma,  278 Kms from Ranchi and is linked via Jharkhand State Road Transport Corporation Limited, West Bengal State Road Transport Corporation Limited and some private travel services.
